Despite not speaking any Armenian at the beginning of the week, I was so excited to teach art to the village kids. I was proud of and impressed by their talent and excitement for learning new things, and I was touched by how hard they worked together to communicate with me when there was no translator. I was worried my classes and the projects wouldn’t be received well, but I was so excited by how much the kids got into the projects. Many of them came up to me outside of class time asking to finish their projects. I wish I could have spent many more weeks living and learning with these kids, I’m so inspired by their imagination and excitement.
