Summer Camps in Akhpradzor & Shvanidzor
This summer we expanded our efforts to host educational summer camps in both the villages of Akhpradzor and Shvanidzor! With two dynamic teams led largely by youth from the Village of Shvanidzor, Summer Camp 2019 kicked off the start of a new decade of partnership, empowerment, and educational enrichment.
This year's courses included art therapy, photography, foreign languages, law, environmental protection, tourism and more. Classes and after school activities gave children the opportunity to express themselves, discover their "hidden" abilities, learn from their peers, and explore career opportunities.
The volunteer groups consisted of a group of young people from different regions of Armenia and abroad. Some of the volunteers were from Shvanidzor, others from Yerevan, Akhpradzor, Tatev, Lebanon, and the United States. Some made their first steps in the field of pedagogy, some already had experience, but each did not spare the effort to teach the children something new and to make their experience at camp enjoyable and exciting. During the two weeks the volunteer groups had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the villages, visit historic sights, connect with the locals, and get acquainted with the daily routine of each village.
