Hidden Road Initiative

UCLA HRI Branch

Welcome to UCLA HRI!

Our chapter at UCLA looks to continuously spread awareness about Armenia and Artsakh through partnership with both its local Armenian and non-Armenian populations. Throughout the years, our chapter has led fundraisers devoted to funding HRI scholar projects and summer camp initiatives, holding benefit concerts for school renovations, and running school supply drives such as Backpacks for Artsakh.

Over the past two years, we have contributed the largest number of Virtual English Tutoring program instructors, as well as had our members participate in both online and in-person Summer Camps in Armenia.

We have hosted numerous creative social events that have been integral in uniting our community in the diaspora while also bringing awareness to the mission of HRI as a whole. Some of our favorites include our “HRI Brain Ring,” “Mante and Mafia Night,” and “Ponchik and Paint Night.”

We’ve collaborated with numerous on-campus organizations to promote cross-campus engagement and awareness of Armenian issues, especially those specific to HRI’s mission. More recently, as a chapter, we are looking to help develop and aid in our HRI scholar’s projects, looking to bridge the gap between our diaspora groups and students in Armenia.

We are excited to be a part of the large HRI family, continuing to work across chapters as well as our amazing lead team on the ground in Armenia!

We love hearing new ideas and are always open to suggestions and new members, so please feel free to reach out!
