​Meet the 2021-2022 Scholars 

The following students from Armenia and Artsakh won an HRI scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year!

Ara-Geghetsik Abrahamyan 

Studying Graphic Design, BA
European University of Armenia 

Ara-Geghetsik was born in the beautiful village of Akhpradzor, where he attended the local secondary school. He graduated high school in 2021 and has currently enrolled at the European University to study graphic design. Ara-Geghetsik has participated in several HRI summer camps, from his school years until his graduation. Ara-Geghetsik hopes to continue participating in future camps as a volunteer in his village next year. His dream is to return to the village and work there. Ara-Geghetsik is one of the young people who are sure that their little help will contribute to the development of the village.​

Aram Ghazaryan

Studying Philology, BA
Armenian State Pedagogical University

​Aram was born and grew up in the village of Akhpradzor, he loves his birthplace very much. He is currently studying at the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan Khachatur Abovyan State Pedagogical University. Aram participated in the camps organized by HRI as a volunteer. After graduating, Aram is going to teach Armenian literature to children at school. And help the children of the village in every issue.

Laura Manukyan

Studying Journalism, BS
Yerevan State University

Laura was born and raised in the village of Makenis. Studied և graduated from the local secondary school. He likes to raise the problems in the village and at school, that's why he decided to specialize in journalism. He is currently studying at YSU Faculty of Journalism. After graduating, he decided to return to the village to cover the problems in the village. In 2021 he participated in the HRI camp as a student & showed relevant activity.

Lilit Gasparyan

Studying Psychology
​​Armenian State Pedagogical University 

Lilit grew up in Akunk village, Gegharkunik region. She is 20 years old, now she studies at the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan. She is a future psychologist. She gained a lot of knowledge from the university and  she continues to gain. Lilit knows that she will become a good specialist to be useful to her homeland. First of all, she plans to do a lot of volunteer work related to her profession. After graduation, she will come to her birthplace to work as a helper for the people who need him.

Lilit Margaryan

Studying Tourism, BA 
Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction

Lilit was born, lived in Meghri, studied at the local secondary school No. 2, in 2014 moved to Shvanidzor secondary school, continued her education there. After graduating, Lilit entered the tourism department of the Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction. Now she is studying in the last year. Lilit is interested in tourism, she dreams of promoting tourism in her village Shavidzor, Meghri region. She wants to bring more tourists to show the stunning scenery, to present the delightful fruits of the region. She thinks that her education will allow her to acquire the knowledge she needs to be more professional in her field.

Natush Makhsudyan

Studying Food Technology  
National Polytechnic University of Armenia

Natush was born on October 20, 2001 in the village of Shvanidzor.In 2008-2020 she studied at Shvanidzor secondary school.In 2020 she entered Yerevan National Polytechnic University. She is a 2nd year student of the Department of Food Technology at the same university.Natush wants to live and work in her village, already in the border village of Shvanidzor. In her opinion, if desired, even the most remote corner of the country can be developed as a result of diligence.

Perchuhi Hayrapetyan

Studying Law
Northern University

Perchuhi grew up in the village of Shvanidzor, in a military family. In 2019 she gradueted the local secondary scool/ She is studying law at Northern University. She is studying in the 3rd year. has excellent progress. The goal is to become one of the best lawyers in Armenia. After completing his bachelor's degree, she will continue her master's degree at the same time as studying at a law school or academy. She also likes to compose recitations. Participation in various training programs. Perchuhi has a law student-consultant certificate.

Samvel Araqelyan

Studying Environmental Science
​Armenian National Agrarian University ​

Samvel has a love for the environment, including both nature and the animal kingdom. When Samvel found out he couldn’t serve in the army because of a medical condition, he decided to devote himself to his country in any other way that he could. Through agrarian studies he hopes to protect and preserve the village environment, and improve the health of its community members. He has participated in cleaning and protecting the local river, as well as different activities at the village church. After graduating, he hopes to use his expert knowledge to protect the forests and wild life of the region.

Serine Poghosyan

Studying Service and Tourism, MA
Yerevan State University

Serine Poghosyan was born in the village of Shvanidzor, Syunik region. She attended and graduated from the local secondary school. This year she graduated from Yerevan State University with a bachelor's degree as a service specialist in sustainable tourism.Now she is studying for a master's degree. Serine wants to work in the field of tourism in the future in order to discover all the luxury of Armenia for tourists in the world.

Tatul Abrahamyan

Studying Information Technologies, MA
Armenian State Pedagogical University 

Tatul has grown up in the village Aghpradzor. He likes IT sphere very much. Now he is studying at the State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan. As a student, Tatul participated in summer camps organized by “The hidden road” organization. In 2019, Tatul volunteered for the HRI summer camp, ran a computer course, and has volunteered for HRI events. With a great desire to teach and educate inspired children. There is no computer science teacher in the school in the village. Tatul wants to create more educational opportunities in the village, to improve the quality of education, to create a quality educational system for the students of Akhpradzor.

Vahe Elbakyan

Armenian State University of Economics

Vahe was born and raised in Shvanidzor. He is studying finance at the Economical University of Armenia and wants to develop the Armenian stock market. He wants to become one of the leaders in the stock market. One day  he hopes to open his own foundation, that will deal with major problems in his village, and will help students with scholarships.

Vanuhi is 23 years old, she was born and raised in Shvanidzor village.He attended the local secondary school.After graduating from school, he entered the Armenian Tourism Institute.Vanuhi works while studying and in his free time he sings․He wants to return to his village after graduation, to live and work there.Her goals and dreams are connected with the development of the village, Vanuhi hopes that she will take part in its realization.

Vrezh Baxtiaryan

Vrezh Bakhtiaryan was born on February 23, 1992 in the village of Shvanidzor, Syunik region.In 1999-2007 he studied at Shvanidzor secondary school.He left school in 2007 and started working in various organizations as a worker.In 2015 he entered Meghri State College, Department of "Accounting", graduated in 2019.In 2021 he entered the "Law" Faculty of Yerevan AgricuIltural University.   He has been working in the RA Armed Forces as a driver since 2015. During his service he received letters of thanks and encouragement.He is married and has two sons.He dreams of a united, strong, independent, invincible Armenia that his sons must build.
