English Tutoring Program

Our ongoing English Tutoring Program provides our students a way to learn the English language to their own pace. Available in virtual and in-person formats.

Online Tutoring
HRI's new online tutoring program reaches out to students from different parts of Armenia and Artsakh who are excited to learn English. We're fostering a close relationship between mentors and students, and we work to create a safe community for everyone in our program. The students are immersed into the English language, and instead of direct translations from Armenian, the program focuses on conversational skills as well as a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary. Students enjoy our community based events once a week through singing, poetry, and self expression while also getting the opportunity of one-on-one tutoring with their teacher. Currently, we have more than 70 students along with one-on-one teachers.

The virtual classes themselves are organized to begin with a warm-up singing session as well as community building questions that engages the students. Then, the teacher, who already has access to HRI premade lesson plans and resources, matches the students' skill level to the appropriate unit. Finally, the teacher ends the session with formative assessments and assigns independent practice. Overall, these units are relevant, engaging, and interactive in nature. We ensure that each teacher has the freedom to decide what's best for their student in terms of pacing.
