UCSD HRI Branch
The University of California, San Diego's chapter is excited to become a recent member of the HRI family! Our members have quickly become invested in finding new and creative ways of helping their Armenian community from participating in the annual HRI summer camps to teaching English to kids in Armenia with the English Zoom tutoring program.
One of their largest projects was their 2022 Holiday Toy Drive, where they raised funds and purchased P.E. equipment and toys for the Poghosagomer Secondary School in Artsakh. In wake of the Artsakh blockade, in fall 2023, they raised over $1500 in fundraising for Artsakh relief. Additionally, they collaborated with AGBU AYA SFV Scouts for their Christmas Toy Drive that year, collecting gifts and making personalized letters for HRI students who were relocated from Artsakh.
They have also run various fundraisers, including a St. Sarkis fundraiser, during which they sold homemade aghablit on campus, and an exciting paint and sip event!
They have more events and fundraisers being planned, and all current and future proceeds will be aimed to assist HRI students in running their projects. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are interested in getting involved with UCSD HRI and joining the growing HRI family!
