Virtual English Tutoring Program

English language lessons have been a staple of HRI summer camps and a favorite of our campers. Taking advantage of the increased use of virtual communication platforms, members of the Hidden Road Initiative are hosting virtual English Tutoring sessions for students living villages across Armenia and Artsakh.

During these weekly, one-on-one sessions, volunteers will be working closely with students in developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through active collaboration, project-based learning, and individualized support. These student-centered sessions will also provide opportunities for learners to draw from their lived experiences, create their own goals, and expand their multilingual repertoires. Teachers will have access to relevant and engaging curricular materials and resources that can be adjusted to meet individual learner’s needs and goals.

SUMMER 2021

Last year we completed our most ambitious summer camp yet. Our team of 23 camp-leaders comprised of current members, former campers, and new volunteers from five different countries held summer camps in Shvanidzor, Akhpradzor, and Poghosagomer (in Artsakh)! Our curriculum included classes on art, photography, music, college and career prep, STEM projects, sports and dance, fashion design, and environmental science. In addition to games, therapy, and excursions!
