Before their forced displacement from Artsakh in September of 2023, many of the students from Nazeli's school in Poghosagomer village regularly attended the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in the Martakert region.
TUMO is a free, well-known after-school educational program that empowers teenagers with skills in technology and design through self-paced learning, workshops, and hands-on projects.
Spread across different regions of Armenia and far from a TUMO center, Nazeli saw an opportunity to keep them connected with TUMO's programs and also to reunite the students, who had now been living apart from each other for the first time.
Nazeli partnered directly with TUMO and organized a series of trips for eight students from her home village to Yerevan’s TUMO Center. The goal was to keep their passion for creative technologies alive, ensure they stayed connected to the creative fields that once inspired them, as well as discover new areas of interest. Once a week, over the course of three months, the students got to delve into the areas of animation, graphic design, photography, game creation, programming, and 3D modeling!
Perhaps just as significant was the evident joy the students felt upon reuniting with their classmates.
