Chemistry class with no labs?! This was the case at our Makenis school for as long as I could remember. To solve this issue, I used the Scholar Service Fund to purchase chemical supplies and equipment for our school's laboratory. In collaboration with the local Chemistry teacher, we wanted to foster hands-on learning, experimentation, and a love for science at our school. Not a single student had had the opportunity to do a science experiment before!
My main goal was to give students theoretical knowledge through the help of the chemistry teacher, as well as gain practical skills, to see with their own eyes what they read about in books. This program was also important for me personally as I wanted the children to get what I didn't have: chemistry lessons with experiments. This naturally gave them more love & enthusiasm toward learning!
